At Hymans Jewellers, we know that shopping for jewellery or arranging repairs often comes with questions. To make things simple, we’ve gathered some of our most frequently asked questions below.
💎 What are your opening times?
We are open Tuesday to Saturday, 9am – 5pm.
But this changes in November when we introduce our Christmas hours:
⏱️ How long do jewellery repairs take?

Basic repairs usually take around 2–3 weeks. These kinds of repairs include: resizing within 2-3 sizes, polishing, reshaping, basic gold soldering and rhodium plating.

Bespoke or more complex work may take up to 6 weeks. This would include reshanking, rebuilding, manufacturing, multiple solder work.
- We do offer a premium same-day service for urgent repairs but limited appointments are available and an appointment must be made (walk-ins are no longer guaranteed as we are so busy!)
⌚ What about watch repairs?

Standard watch repairs (such as battery replacement, strap adjustments, etc.) are typically 3 weeks.

Luxury brand watches may take 6 weeks or longer, depending on the brand and complexity.
- We also offer watch polishing services available to the public and trade. Watch polishing must be booked by appointment only and requires 2-3 weeks. A premium next day service is also available and limited appointments are offered to customers.
🛍️ Do I need an appointment to visit?
No appointment is needed – you are welcome to pop into the shop anytime during opening hours.
👉 To avoid our busiest times, visit between 9-10am or after 3pm Tuesday-Friday 😉
🎁 Do you offer payment plans?
Yes! Our Christmas Club makes it easier to spread the cost:

💍 Do you design bespoke jewellery?
Yes – we can create bespoke jewellery tailored to your needs. From remodelled heirlooms to custom engagement rings, our jewellers work closely with you throughout the design process.
You'll need to email us or even pop into the shop to discuss your ideas and we'll provide you with a timescale in which we think your project can be achieved.
